Great park for small hikes. Went on a rainy winter day, it was slippery yet beautiful. Trails are well marked. Plenty of parking.

This was a nice park a short ways out of the city; the day we went was scorchingly hot; it was clear the park is used by many many people . It was sad to see so much trash but it’s part of a “heavy use” area; looking out on the water was simply beautiful; I wouldn’t get in the water or eat the fish here and was surprised at the number of people in the water. I was glad to see signs posted about the dangers of eating your catch in the waters. Wish we had more time, but it was a nice visit, very nice education center for children or for people interested in learning more about the area – we would go back again but likely in the early early morning or evening

Popular place to come watch the sunset. Just keep in mind that the area closes at sunset (specific closing times are usually accurate on the website) and the gate closes half an hour before the area does, so for your sunset pics you need to arrive decently ahead of time. For example: today the park is closing at 730. To catch the sunset you need to be arriving before 7, and ideally earlier so that you can get more out of your $10 parking pass.

Enjoyed the place for a bit in the afternoon before it got crowded again. Nice place to bring your dog also. Water was very refreshing and not too cold Mid Aug. Kids also had fun and played with the sand. Had to put 4 stars because unfortunately people left lots of trash behind and when it got crowded some didn’t respect your little space. Didn’t observe much security going around. Lots of boats and that looked really fun!

I was there for the first time. Nice, quiet, beautiful place to be amid the beautiful nature, the great combination of water, woods, trials and sky. I would recommend to visit alone or with family and friends. Beautifully preserved State Park. Thank you to all volunteers.
