A great place for hiking and you can also drive/hike up via the paved road up to the summit. Great views at the summit with different spots to sit and enjoy. Plenty of Adirondack chairs, picnic tables, picnic grills. Firewood available at the summit for those camping and renting the summit lodge. For camping there are 7 tent sites and 3 lean-to sites. Dog friendly (must be on a leash). Wear appropriate hiking shoes!

Fun little hike! You can drive up, which I did, but watch out for pedestrians on the narrow street, as you can hike up as well. Incredible views at the top. Nice little pit-stop hike.

Love this place! We drove down from Canada for the weekend & camped here 4 nights at Pine, one of the lean-to sites. It’s technically a walk-in site, but we were able to park the car less than 10m from camp. The site felt super private & there were plenty of trees for me to hang up my hammock as well. Bathrooms/showers were another 10m down the hill. The lean-to was amazing; we didn’t put the fly on the tent at all since it was covered, & we had enough space inside to arrange our chairs & hang out on the nights that it rained. Firewood is reasonably priced at $6/bundle & free (albeit wet) kindling. No ice sold at the park but the gate attendant gave us really helpful directions to a nearby gas station. Park staff were super friendly & helpful, and the view at the summit was absolutely gorgeous! Lots of bugs on the weekend we were there, but that’s to be expected given all of the flooding Vermont has experienced this summer. All in all, would visit again.

Less than a mile hike from the parking lot to the summit (took me about 25 minutes). Great view of VT from the summit. Easy enough for children & dogs. 2 toilets on the summit. Many Adirondack chairs for you to sit down & enjoy the view, or yo read or take a nap.

Absolutely breathtaking views from atop Mount Philo, overlooking the area, including Lake Champlain. This would be an excellent location to have a picnic, take a moderate hike, or simply drive to the top for a beautiful view.
