Washington Park review

Great location, convenient parking, nice day use area with beach access, lots of boat launch parking, picnic tables, well maintained trails, and clean facilities. It would be a great place to camp.

WA Park is always a go-to spot for me when I’m in Anacortes. I drove here after getting off the ferry to show a friend the beauty and get it a cold swim at the beach next to the boat launch. If you make one stop while driving the loop, make sure it’s at the South Bluff. You can also walk to the next two car parking to check out the Havekost Tomb, and read about the history. There is also a loop trail. And a porta potty across the street.

Great views! We rode our bikes around the loop. Take note that there are steep climbs if you are riding it on a bike, but very doable depending on fitness level.

Fantastic place to watch the sunset, camp or spend time at the beach. There is a drive around loop so if you’re trying to catch the sunset make sure you check the time and leave some room in case there is traffic.

I haven’t been out here since I was little but I was quite disappointed in pretty much everything except the view. There was quite a bit of garbage that my Dad and I walked around, picking up. There was dog doo doo everywhere, including my shoes now. And we were trying to find something to keep my grandkids attention, on the beach but there was no sign of life, unfortunately. So we threw rocks into the water, spun around on a couple things and called it all the fun we could handle. I did get some pics though so they’ll be here somewhere.
