Papago Park review

Danielle Gregg
I’ve been here easily over 100 times since moving to Phoenix 6 years ago. We take our 3 chihuahuas around the 5k loop regularly. I love that it’s mostly paved with small hills but it’s a relatively easy trail. It’s always been clean and it’s not too crowded. I only wish the parking lot would be open later. They start kicking people out well before sunset.

Papago Park was very nice. The hike is short, easy, and has a nice view. It has plenty of parking, a pond for fishing, and a grill. The people were very nice and we had some great laughs taking pictures for them at the hole. Oh it was also very clean. This park is also good for children and pets.

A beautiful place with so much to see! Watching the ducks, birds, prairie dogs, climbing into the hole in a rock and adventuring the pyramid, we really loved this park!

The park was extremely busy over Christmas break, but it was still relatively easy to park and walk up. Pretty good view and an easy hike, I did not hike all the way to the to the rock. There’s also an area close by with many palms and some water (and a small white pyramid, I have no idea what’s up with that).

Would recommend for almost anyone not in a wheelchair.

For a beautiful, yet family-friendly hike, head to Papago Park. There’s a large parking lot with information boards and drinking fountains nearby. Then follow the path to the rocks great for climbing. My wife, six-year-old daughter and I loved the short hike and scramble up the rocks for a beautiful view of the area.
